Latvia is the sovereign state in the Baltic region of northern Europe. It is referred to as one of the Baltic States. It is bordered by Estonia in the northern, Lithuania in the southern, and Russia in the east and Belarus to the southern. Education system in Latvia
The Latvian education system consists of secondary and higher education. It provides 9 years basic education and 3 years secondary education. There are such institutes also that offer both academic and professional education.

Doctoral:
The candidate must have completed bachelors and masters degree (of 5 years) with detailed research proposal

Visa processing duration:
According to the immigration laws of Latvia the maximum time consumed in visa processing is 15 days after the submission of visa application. More time can be taken in case there is requirement of information regarding long term visa. The decision will be taken in 60 days.
